The Soma Story

Little Somas

“Little Somas” (named after the cell body of a neuron, the latin translation of soma is “body”) is a ritual documentation of my daily stretching practice for chronic pain. Whichever position felt best in my body, I would take a small amount of clay and create a tiny version of it that same day. This practice has helped redirect and retrain my thoughts away from pain catastrophizing and lovingly connect with my body. They are consistent and hopeful reminders of embodied releases of pain.

I continues to create little somas and they have evolved to also accompany others in their chronic pain journeys. She commissions special little somas to partner with your practice.
